Main Floor Makeover

Friday, August 24, 2018

Once we had the interior of our home painted it was time to start furnishing!! Since we had family coming to meet Declan for the first time I wanted to make sure we had things roughly put together and maximize space to accomodate everyone! Here are just a few Before pics!

Our main floor consists of the entryway, kitchen, living room, master bedroom, dining room, and what we've converted into a music room. I didn't include pics of our music room because I'll be honest, there was music everywhere and I didn't feel like cleaning it up lol. But we were lucky enough to purchase a baby grand piano that someone was selling when we first moved here and I have loved having it in our home for Tony to play! I also didn't include pics of the bathrooms/closet because well, its nothing fancy and all our bathrooms I hope to remodel someday because we are currently rocking shell shaped sinks!!

If you can't tell, my style is very simple and clean. We love our neutral colors in this house! I fell in love with this entry way mirror I got at lampsplus. Unfortunately I don't think they are selling it anymore but they have a lot of options! The entryway table I also love and I got that at houzz. Our entryway is small and I didn't want to make it look cluttered, so this skinny tall table was the perfect fit!

Our living room was slowly put together starting with the rug and couch. We got this rug at rugsusa and we absolutely love it! Its so soft and looks beautiful but be warned...it sheds!! Over time it's been a lot better but you will be picking up balls of fluff for a while. Our couches we got from Ashley Furniture. We got this sectional, and the thing I love is you can add however many pieces you need and rearrange it the way you like.  Feel free to ignore that old school stereo, Tony has had it since high school and refuses to part with it...

Our dining room we've kept simple. I'm a bit obsessed with Ikea and buy a lot from their HEMNES series which is where our hutch is from. Our dining table is also from Ikea, and I love that its extendable! I couldn't find any chairs I love from Ikea so I went with these chairs from target which give it a little bit of a farmhouse feel!

Oh don't mind my super wrinkly bedspread, I think thats my only complaint about it. Lucky for us we have big windows in our room so I really wanted to keep our colors light and neutral with a touch of blush. I promised Tony I wouldn't go crazy with the blush because he is forced to share the room with me :) Our Bed we got from Wayfair and I love how it is true white! So many beds I looked at were cream or off white somehow. Both pillow covers we got off of Etsy. Our dresser and nightstand were of course from Ikea and the accent chair and lamp from Target, though I don't know if they still sell this exact chair and color. And lastly our rug is also from rugsusa, I couldn't find another place that beats their prices.

I honestly felt super overwhelmed when I knew I had to furnish so many rooms. So big thanks to Crystal Mickelsen Design for helping me throw together my ideas and find some of these items! If you are local to San Antonio, TX and need interior design help she is amazing!! Now that I've had some practice I love adding on to our rooms with little decor items here and there! I actually just partnered with a home decor store who will be sending me items to put in my home and photograph! Can't wait to share some of my favorite items so stay tuned!!

Cheers
